Companies in the Bondurant area come together to help those wounded in war on terror Veterans
Bondurant, IA – February 27, 2008 – The Board of Bondurant Trade, in collaboration with the Coalition to Salute Heroes USA (www.saluteheroes.org) will hold a charity dinner and auction on Friday, 29 5:00 to 22:00 CST February Cory Irish pub in the center of Bondurant in honor of local veterans.
Donny Daughenbaugh Corporal, U.S. Marine Corps (retired) and specialist BJ Jackson, Iowa National Guard (retired), veterans of the area will be present. While deployed in Iraq in 2004, Donny has been wounded in the face by insurgents, and the bullet lodged near his brain that doctors can not be erased. In 2003, BJ lost both legs when the Humvee he was riding collided with a mine. Today, BJ and Donny help other wounded soldiers and their families by working with the organization nonprofit, nonpartisan Coalition for Heroes American Salute (SCF).
All proceeds will go to SCF, which distributes funds to wounded veterans living in the Greater Des Moines.
Included in the auction are:
• guitar autographed by country artists, Big & Rich, Gretchen Wilson and Montgomery Gentry
• Autographed Photos / Shirts Leeann Womack and Dirks Bentley
• Sports memorabilia autographed NASCAR, Barry Bonds, Brett Favre
• other memorabilia autographed Hannah Montana
• Items donated by local businesses such as gas grills and DVD players
SCF is a leading provider of emergency government assistance Financial seriously injured troops for the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan and their families. There are significant emotional, psychological and financial barriers that wounded heroes and their families have to overcome in addition to the physical changes they have undergone. SCF measures to help these families rebuild their lives, thanks to donations from Americans patriotic and businesses throughout the country.
